After the PC/Windows version of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix decided to postpone the release of Playstation 3 version, and reestructure the game’s team.
Square Enix states: “Instead of simply converting the current PC version, we intend to include all the improvements that currently we plan to meet customer expectations for the PS3 version“
“For this, we made the difficult decision to delay the PS3 version (…). A new launch date will be announced as soon as possible.“
The Windows version of FFXIV launched on September 30 this year was widely criticized as a significant stability, performance and functionality issues and even Square Enix decided twice to extend the free trial period in order to appease the players.
Wada said: “We realize the essence of time and we are fully determined to provide our customers a quality service. That’s why we ask our customers to be patient until we are able to present a concrete plan for the new FFXIV team. The free trial period will be extended until that moment. “
