If you like to blow up things then you should try Twisted Pixal’s platform game available at XBox Live, ‘Splosion Man, which is nothing more nor less than, blowing yourself up. Yeah, yourself. This platformer is such a nice game that will suck you in and urge you to mash your buttons endlessly.
For an unkown reason, the hero was suffered a terrible experiment which turned himself into a lava-covered man and with the power to explode himself, destroying everything around him and blowing him into the air.
You’ll get used to the gameplay as soon as you play it for 1 minute… Ok, I’ll give you ten seconds until you find out all the controls of the game. All you have to do, is push one button and Man will blow himself! Press another and you’ll blow yourself again. And, the third time, will waste all of your energy and you’ll need to wait a couple seconds until he’s pumped up again. You can refill energy just by standing or sliding down a wall for a certain time. Even your future newborn baby will understand how to blow himself.
If you think you’ve seen all kinds of characters then you’ve never met ‘Splosion Man. A goofy and nutsy character that loves to explode himself. Twisted Pixal tried to turn the main character in a charismatic character that would somehow, spice up things by mixing a kilogram of humour, two grams of fun and a bunch of cakes. You’ll see him running around and making weird noises, or even training kung-fu movements.
Explode to jump. Explode to attack. Explode to advance along 50 levels of pure entertainment. You’ll find enumerous obstacles, scientists turning into fried meat, and let frustation raise as you try your best to cross difficult situations. Checkpoints turned things in ‘Splosion Man a bit more for players. You’ll find checkpoints near each other, or most of the times, farther than you wish for a another one to appear.
The game gets harder everytime you level up, trust me, but you can always kill yourself with the Way of The Coward “technique” and advance to the next level. But, like a yoga master once said: “There is something good in all seeming failures. You are not to see that now. Time will reveal it. Be patient”, and then, unlock Hardcore mode which will bring you to the beginning of each level if you die.
If you got 800 Microsoft Points in your Live account and you don’t know where to use them, then I strongly suggest you to buy ‘Splosion Man. One of best titles available at the Live Marketplace, with one of the best characters and 50 levels of all time.
The game whatsoever, tends to get a bit repetitive, even if you don’t notice it, as long as it gets more challenging and hard for you to pass through a pit of lava, you’ll still have to run through in the exact same type of booby traps . But, with a character as Splosion Man, dancing and flexing around like crazy you won’t know what’s going on around you.
