According to an interview with Destructoid, David Cage, director of Quantic Dreams, affirms that Heavy Rain feels no longer as a gaming project.
“Heavy Rain is not a videogame anymore in my mind,” he says, “because it breaks with most of the traditional paradigms, but it’s fully interactive.”
“If the format becomes successful,” he suggests, “we will probably have to find a different name for this type of experience.”
I understand what Cage might wanna say, but we should always consider what the player could expect. I don’t think most players would like to spend 70€ on a movie, although, in my humblest opinion, this game is worth every last cent.
